"A few years ago, during a major whole house remodel, I had to have a complicated bunion surgery. That was followed by a lawsuit, then covid, and a total hip replacement. To add insult to injury, I was also going through menopause, and became an empty nester! During this time, I had fallen out of the fitness routine that I had been doing for years and really didn’t feel well physically and emotionally and I disliked the changes in my body, but felt like I just needed to accept my new bigger, softer, old lady body.
My friend mentioned that she was working out with Nicki and described her as being “tough” and a “buttkicker”. She encouraged me to call, but I wasn’t ready, so I waited until I was super miserable and THEN called. I was feeling a little intimidated and self conscious because I hadn’t been in the gym for a long time, but I forced myself to go and I am so glad that I did!
Nicki is a real pro! She is nonjudgmental and encouraging and a stickler for proper form, and notices when you're trying to cheat. She has a unique ability to describe how the proper form should feel while you’re doing it that is easily understandable. I jokingly refer to the exercises as torture, but truthfully, Nicki’s work outs are definitely challenging, but absolutely doable. I feel like she was able to meet me at the level I was at when I started, and really coaxed me into wanting to push myself. Nicki keeps my workouts varied so that they are never boring and do not feel repetitive, which I really appreciate. "Almost 3 years ago I found a gem, my "diamond trainer," wise nutritionist, and a lifetime friend. At the beginning I was very skeptical and didn't even think that I could make exercising and healthy eating a lifestyle.
